Mohit Mutreja is the co-founder and managing director and CEO of AlphaGrep, a Mumbai-based quantitative trading and investment firm. He started the firm in 2009 with Parshant Mittal; by the company's own account it began with a team of five in a small room in Mumbai and started trading on NSE, BSE and MCX in 2010. Over the following decade AlphaGrep opened offices in Bengaluru, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, London and Chicago, and in 2021 launched AlphaMine, a business to manage external capital. Before AlphaGrep, Mutreja traded a portfolio of Indian listed equities and convertible bonds at D.E. Shaw, and earlier built and traded quantitative strategies on US fixed income at Citadel in Chicago; he also worked at Deutsche Bank and Goldman Sachs in New York. He graduated summa cum laude from the Jerome Fisher Management and Technology programme at the University of Pennsylvania, earning a B.S. in Economics from Wharton and a B.S.E. in Computer Engineering. In September 2026 he led AlphaGrep through two ₹200 crore issues of non-convertible debentures, which took its NCD funding to ₹400 crore.
