About
Niraj Rajmohan is the co-founder and chief technology officer of Ultraviolette Automotive, the Bengaluru-based electric motorcycle company he set up in 2016 with Narayan Subramaniam, now its chief executive. The two have been friends since the fifth grade in Bangalore and studied engineering at the same college, where they competed together in technical competitions. Rajmohan holds a bachelor's degree in information science and engineering from BMS College of Engineering, Bengaluru, and an MBA from the Asian Institute of Management in Manila. Before Ultraviolette he worked in technology at Yahoo, NetApp and HereNow; according to Subramaniam, he left Yahoo to start a drone-technology venture that he later put on hold. At Ultraviolette he runs day-to-day technology operations and owns the company's technology roadmap, coordinating engineering across teams. The company has built its battery packs, power electronics, vehicle architecture and software in-house, with battery architectures from 48V to 400V, and sells its F77 and X-47 motorcycles in India and 20 European countries. In September 2026 it announced an $85 million round led by Yali Capital and TDK Ventures and said it is targeting a US launch in 2027.
