About
Prashant Parameswaran is the founder of Arovia Consumer, a platform launched in September 2026 to buy significant, mostly controlling stakes in established regional packaged-food companies and help them grow beyond their home markets. Fireside Ventures has committed ₹100 crore, to be drawn as acquisitions close, and Arovia is initially looking at two to four businesses with revenue above ₹100 crore that are profitable or cash-flow positive. Before Arovia he spent about a decade building Soulfull, the Bengaluru millet-based breakfast and snacks brand run by Kottaram Agro Foods, which he co-founded with Rasika Prashant, K K Narayanan and Amith Sebastian and led as managing director and CEO. Tata Consumer Products bought the company outright in February 2021 for about ₹156 crore and renamed the brand Tata Soulfull; Parameswaran stayed on and served as its president from September 2024 to December 2025. He is an engineering graduate of PSG College of Technology in Tamil Nadu and holds an MBA from Babson College's Olin Graduate School of Business.
Parameswaran started his career in 2001 setting up distribution, operations and retail units in India for the Kottaram Group, and later worked in the United States with Limited Brands and Information Resources Inc, where he was a director supporting the marketing strategy team for Safeway Supermarkets in California. He told Outlook Business the idea for Soulfull came while he was in the US in 2005, when quinoa was being sold as a superfood; he returned to India in 2009 to research Indian millets. Soulfull worked with the Indian Institute of Millets Research and the Central Food Technological Research Institute, launched its ragi-based Ragi Bites in 2013, and set up a factory at Bidadi near Bengaluru after a 2018 investment from Aavishkaar Bharat Fund. He is a member of the Young Presidents' Organization's Bangalore chapter.
