About

Reliance Industries is a Mumbai-headquartered conglomerate that grew out of a commodity trading firm Dhirubhai Ambani set up in 1958. It moved into textiles and polyester and then into petrochemicals, refining and oil and gas. Today its businesses span the Jamnagar refining complex, petrochemicals, Reliance Retail, digital and telecom services through Jio Platforms, media and new energy. It is India's largest public company by market capitalisation and revenue. Mukesh Ambani has been its chairman and managing director since his father's death in 2002, and Jio Platforms has regulatory approval for an IPO.
