Digantara, a pioneering spacetech startup focused on space situational awareness (SSA), recently inaugurated its global headquarters in Bengaluru, India. This state-of-the-art facility marks a significant milestone for Digantara, showcasing its commitment to innovation and leadership in the SSA domain.
New Headquarters Houses Advanced Infrastructure
Spanning an impressive 25,000 square feet in Hebbal, Bengaluru, the new headquarters integrates several key functionalities. It houses a cutting-edge cleanroom for satellite assembly, alongside an advanced integration and testing (AIT) facility. This allows Digantara to develop and manufacture its space-based SSA satellites entirely in-house, ensuring quality control and efficient production processes.
Addressing Data Gaps in Space Traffic Management
Digantara's constellation of space-based surveillance satellites is specifically designed to address existing data deficiencies in space traffic management. By collecting high-quality data, both quantitatively and qualitatively, these satellites will provide a more comprehensive picture of the space environment. This enhanced data will be instrumental in ensuring the safety and sustainability of space operations for a global clientele.
Command and Control Center Strengthens Space Traffic Monitoring
The new headquarters also features a dedicated command and control center. This critical facility serves as the nerve center for Digantara's operations. From here, the company will monitor and manage space traffic, mitigating potential collisions and safeguarding the growing number of satellites orbiting Earth.
Expanding Global Reach and Client Base
Digantara has already established a foothold in the international space industry, securing contracts with two clients outside of India. Additionally, the company is actively collaborating with defense-related government agencies within India.
Comprehensive Solutions for Space Situational Awareness
Digantara offers a comprehensive suite of space situational awareness solutions. Their Space-Mission Assurance Platform (Space-MAP) leverages a multi-modal data pool to provide clients with valuable datasets and orbital insights. Furthermore, Digantara's STARS (Space Threat Assessment and Response Suite) caters specifically to military and defense applications, strengthening national sovereign space capabilities.
Investment Fuels Growth
Digantara's recent funding success has fueled its rapid growth trajectory. In February 2024, the company secured $2 million from Aditya Birla Ventures and Sidbi Venture Capital, marking the final close of their $12 million Series A funding round. This investment, coupled with the $10 million raised from Peak XV Partners in June 2023, solidifies Digantara's financial position and empowers them to further advance their space-based SSA solutions.
Founded in 2018 by Anirudh Sharma, Rahul Rawat, and Tanveer Ahmed, Digantara has emerged as a leading player in the space situational awareness sector. With its newly inaugurated global headquarters and a growing team of 45 specialists, Digantara is well-positioned to revolutionize space traffic management and ensure a safer, more sustainable space environment for all.
