EDT, a Mumbai consumer appliance brand co-founded by Naiyya Saggi, has raised $2.4 million in a pre-Series A led by existing investor Sauce. The round funds festive-season inventory and a move from kitchen gadgets into beauty tech, starting with a hair dryer called SUKI.
EDT, a Mumbai-based maker of design-led home and kitchen appliances, has raised $2.4 million (more than ₹23 crore) in a pre-Series A round, it said on 30 September 2026. Existing investor Sauce.vc led the round, and the brand's existing angel investors also put in more money.
New backers include venture debt firm Alteria Capital, Nicobar co-founder Raul Rai, Atomberg founders Shibam Das and Arindam Paul, Delhivery's Ajith Pai and Samsonite's Anushree Tainwala. The round follows a $1.4 million raise in December 2025 in which Sauce.vc also invested, according to Inc42.
What the money is for
EDT will use the capital to stock up ahead of the festive season across its sales channels, launch new products, and add people to its growth, supply chain, brand and product teams. It also plans to put more into R&D, omnichannel distribution and community building.
The bigger shift is into beauty tech. EDT is launching SUKI, a hair dryer built on what it calls a patent-pending CareDry algorithm. Inc42 reported that SUKI is priced at ₹8,999 and will first be sold on EDT's own website before reaching marketplaces and retail stores later this year. Three more launches are planned across home, kitchen and beauty.
The company groups its products under an approach it calls Intelligent Care, which combines design, technology, materials and engineering, and is now extending the idea to an Intelligent Beauty range. Co-founder and CEO Naiyya Saggi said the response to its LUMA and FLOW products had been strong and that the round will carry the same approach into new categories.
Manu Chandra, founder and managing partner of Sauce, said his firm doubled down because it believes EDT "has the opportunity to build far beyond individual appliance categories."
About EDT
Inc42 reports that EDT was founded in 2025 by Naiyya Saggi, formerly a co-founder of MyGlamm, and Vyasateja Rao, founder of the industrial design studio Analogy. Saggi earlier built BabyChakra; after it was acquired in 2021 she joined MyGlamm as a co-founder, and she left the now-defunct Good Glamm Group in 2024.
EDT's current range covers air fryers, electric kettles and kitchen accessories. The products are sold on Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, Croma and FoodStories, as well as on EDT's own direct-to-consumer site. The company told Inc42 that its sales on Amazon grew nearly sevenfold between March and July 2026.
