Six Sense Mobility, a pioneering deep-tech smart mobility company, has successfully raised ₹6 crore in a seed funding round led by Piper Serica VC, an angel investment firm based in Mumbai. This latest infusion of capital follows an earlier investment from Saurabh Nayyar of Docbel Group.
Boosting Growth and Innovation
Founded by Sumit Roy, Kapil Rao, and Narendra Kumar Verma, Six Sense Mobility is set to leverage this new funding to expand its team, enhance production capacity, and advance research and development in vehicle safety technologies. Despite being just 1.5 years old, the company has made remarkable strides, transitioning its technology from the R&D phase to commercialization.
Sumit Roy, the founder of Six Sense Mobility, shared, “We have made significant progress by keeping our technology entirely indigenous and controlling the entire value chain—from design and development to manufacturing. Our client base spans various automotive segments, including 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, and large commercial vehicles, covering both EV and IC engine domains.”
Scaling Up in a Booming Market
The smart mobility sector is poised for substantial growth, with the connected cars market projected to reach $165 billion by 2029, up from approximately $75 billion today. Six Sense Mobility is positioned to tap into this expansion by scaling its operations both domestically and internationally. The Indian government’s push for advanced technologies in mobility and transportation further underscores the potential impact of Six Sense's innovations.
The company’s technology is integral to emerging systems like the GPS-based tolling system, which relies on intelligent technologies for effective implementation. Six Sense Mobility’s solutions, including crash detection and emergency SOS dispatch, are designed to enhance automotive safety and efficiency. Their crash detection technology can identify collisions, measure impact, and send emergency services to the precise location, potentially saving lives.
Advanced Technology and Strong Market Presence
Six Sense Mobility is among the few telematics companies that are 5G ready, showcasing strong customer traction. Their technology supports satellite-based tolling systems, connected cars, efficient logistics, and pay-as-you-go insurance models. Ajay Modi, Director of Investments at Piper Serica Angel Fund, emphasized, “We are excited to support Six Sense Mobility, a deep-tech company with a stellar founding team and robust customer traction.”
The company’s tracking and immobilization technology integrates with multiple satellite systems, including GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, and the Indigenous NAVIC satellites from ISRO. This multi-satellite approach ensures precise tracking and remote immobilization, enhancing the security of users' assets.
As Six Sense Mobility continues to innovate and expand, its contributions to the smart mobility sector are set to make a significant impact on the future of automotive safety and efficiency.
